North Fork, Ben Lomond Trail, Utah

These are spectacular trails with expansive vistas...forests, wildflowers.  There are some steep drop offs.  Would consider it moderately strenuous because of the elevation change.  There still might be some snow near the top in May, but should be gone by June. Parking and camping available at the horse camping area, North Fork Park. This is a privately owned camp area.  There is no fee for day use, only for camping overnight.  For photos and information on reservations refer to:http://www.co.weber.ut.us/parks/nfork_photos.php

New map of trails, updated 2021

Horse camping area viewed from the trail.  There happened to be a Backcountry Horseman activity, hence all the trailers.
Loop trail beginning at horse corrals, up to the "saddle". (We didn't ride all the way to the top of the peak) Distance: 6 miles up.  Then, we took the Cutler Ridge trail down.  4.2 miles to the  Mule Ear trailhead, then another 1.8 miles on dirt/gravel road back to the horse corrals; Maximum elevation: 8,652 ft; Ascent/Descent: 3,120 ft.; trail conditions: 60% dirt, 10% dirt/gravel road, 30% rocky

Heading down the Cutler Ridge Trail.  Although shorter, it is extremely rocky and steep.

A lovely portion of the Cutler Ridge Trail, this time going up.
